On October 19, 1954, the No. 129 electrolysis cell of the second electrolytic aluminum plant of Fushun Aluminum Plant produced the first ton of aluminum in China.
Fushun Aluminum Factory was built during the Japanese Puppet Regime in the 1930s. However, when the founding of New China, the factory was affected by the war and almost became a ruin. In 1951, the Government Council officially approved the launch of 144 electrolytic cells and designed an annual output of 15,000 tons of electrolytic aluminum. To this end, Chairman Zhu De personally came to inspect. Fushun Aluminum Factory opened the first technical school and selected 18 technicians to study in the former Soviet Union.
The first phase of the “Fu Aluminum” project was constructed in accordance with the design and construction of the former Soviet Union, and it has been built for two years. On September 30, 1954, the first phase of the "Fushang Aluminum" first-phase project No. 129 electrolytic cell began to send electricity, but due to lack of production experience, the aluminum water could not be produced normally. Until October 19, the management technicians overcame. Difficulties and difficulties, overcome a difficult situation, and finally produced the first package of qualified aluminum water.
Subsequently, all of the 144 electrolyzers were successfully launched. New China started its own aluminum products industry, and Fushun Aluminum Factory was called “China Aluminum Industry Cradle”.xx
